The Maker

A name from an old fairytale.

Hakem Scattergood is a jeweler based on the North Shore of Maui. Raised between Cape Cod and Maui, she grew up collecting shells, sea glass, and stones — inspirations that still shape her work today.

She studied silversmithing in Tucson, Arizona, and now creates each piece by hand in her small studio, making everything slowly and in small numbers with a focus on craftsmanship and intention.

Undine — her middle name — comes from a fairytale about a water spirit and represents intuition, mystery, and creativity drawn from the depths beneath the surface.

Have something imagined?

Every piece is made one at a time. If I have the supplies on hand I can sometimes make more of the same — a matching pair, or a necklace from the same gemstones. Send a screenshot of something you've seen and I'll tell you what's possible.
